Here are four alternatives to cable that will keep you connected to your must-see television shows and movies:

Hulu.com. Hulu is a great way to to catch up with your favorite shows online. On Hulu, you can search for your favorite shows and watch them for free right on your computer. They also offer a Hulu Plus package for $7.99 a month, which allows you to watch videos on Hulu in HD and on different platforms such as on yourTV, gaming consoles like XBOX or your iPad. You’ll also be able to access more episodes with a Hulu Plus subscription as compared to the free Hulu service.

Netflix. For $7.99 a month, you can watch unlimited movies and TV episodes streamed over the Internet to your TV using a gaming console or other device, including XBOX, PlayStation or Roku. You also have the option of watching episodes and movies on directly on your computer. If you’re still a fan of getting your movies and tv shows through the mail, you can combine Netflix’s streaming service with their traditional DVDs through the mail program for an additional $7.99 per month.

Apple TV. For $99 you can use Apple TV to access movies and TV shows from iTunes. With iTunes you can rent or buy movies and purchase TV shows that can also be watched on your iPad, iPod or iPhone. You can also stream content from Netflix, Hulu Plus or YouTube through Apple TV.

Broadcast Network Websites. Visiting your favorite network TV stations online is a great way to stay up to date on your must-see shows. Many shows are posted the day they air and are available for free.  You could also attach an HDMI cable from your computer to your TV to watch episodes on your tv.
